so it has only been about a year. Finally got permit to rebuild old barn with new. I'll let you know how that goes due to the rain. Started working Mariah in round pen with ground work she wont be big enough to ride til she is at least three. Thinking she would be so easy as she is just a big lap dog........not. She is quite the diva and decided that I should move my feet instead of the other way around. She did fine until she decided it was my turn and took a charge at me. I ran at her as fast as she ran at me and that shook her up so she decided that wasn't a good idea. She immediately turned back to the fence and lost her footing causing her to completely roll over. She got up and continued her run like she intended to do that. When I reversed her she thought about doing the charge again and slipped. She changed her mind and got down to business at hand. Now every once in awhile she just turns her head like she wants to charge, I think just to test the water but no move. I can actually do most of the excercise with nothing but hand signals as opposed to stick and string. I really think she is going to be an amazing horse. I am really liking the personalities of Paint horses. On a more personal note . Paul and Heather got married on March 26. It was a great wedding and they really seem happy and suited for each other . I wish them both the best in all they do. Also it appears I am going to be a grandfather for the tenth time. More later on that.

hmmmph Rain in Washington. Jacuzzi came today and its too rainy to put up deck and wiring.

well a busy month. House warming. trip to zoo with family. mowing the scotch broom,( I will post pics of that) baby birds hatching everywhere on place. trees blooming, grass growing, pollen effects, horse back rides..........oh yeah lest I forger got married too.

So last week started spring training for my lazy horses......They were great although Ranger took a swipe at Kathy as if to say dont think we are going to do this everyday.
He was right . now the rain is back,with a fury. Damn how long before next session. Why cant I have the close proximity to my friends and family with the greenery that I enjoy but seasons of my choosing? Its even too wet to tear down old barn and erect new one.

finally an update
still cleaning up new place and while it is not big enough to really be a formal ranch, It is a ranch in our eyes. Kathy and I are really enjoying the open space and wildlife. We are starting to get things organized and have the round pen up and two pastures fenced for the horses. We are cleaning up the old barn for partial demolition.
have put canoe in pond for solitude rowing. will clean up lily pads as they clutter. listen to the loud enormous chorus of the mating frogs almost 24/7.
